Rick is a dry brush watercolourist specializing in a realistic approach to a variety of subject matters, ranging from landscapes to figurative art, and more rural contemporary scenes. Painting has been his passion for most of his life. A graduate of OCA in 1982, he worked twenty-five years in the Toronto advertising industry as an illustrator and storyboard artist. Behind the scenes, he pursued his own watercolour paintings based on photographs taken during his travels in Europe and other destinations including Ontario. As a member of the Saugeen Artists Guild, his work has become a lot more focused on capturing local subjects these days, with the objective of hanging in many of the fine galleries in the area. He is now based exclusively in his hometown, Neustadt, Ontario.
